Saturday, May 12th, marks the formal end of the 2011-2012 season. Members will compete in their standard categories plus special Nature & Landscape Competitions. There will be three judges (Adolfo Briceno, Chuck Pine and Marie Kane).  Judges will rule images “In” or “Out” (two judges in favor = “In”) for one or more rounds and the remaining images will be scored to determine the winners. All of our season’s best will be entered – so don’t miss it!

And coming up the following week – Saturday, May 12th – will be the End of Year Competition.  In addition to our regular competition categories you can enter two (2) images in “Nature” and one (1) in “Landscape.”  If you do so, remember that images entered in these categories cannot also be entered in your regular color or black & white levels.  Also images entered only in Theme (i.e. not entered in regular color, black & white or altered reality) CANNOT be submitted for End-of-Year.  Please review the Rules of Competition on our website to be sure you are entering qualifying images, and the number you can enter.

When you see the schedule below you’ll see that it was well worth it – we pushed up Competition #8 to April and was able to secure Enid Alvarez (whom we cancelled earlier in the season due to weather).

The weather reports are persistent that it will begin snowing in the early morning tomorrow and continue for most of the day. Accumulations can be as much as 5-6″ and more. Although I was sooooo looking forward to Enid’s presentation, we have no choice but to cancel.
Our next meeting will be Competition #6 on February 4th.

Some of you may recall that Doris used to come to meetings with her friend, Teena Miller. The family will be sitting Shiva on Monday afternoon, January 2nd.
